Description
Beautifully illustrated in color and black-and-white, this scarce book reviews the history and production of Dugan/Diamond art glass including carnival and stretch glass, pressed and opalescent glass, decorated color glass and more.DUGAN/DIAMOND: THE STORY OF INDIANA, PENNSYLVANIA GLASS
by William Heacock, James Measell and Berry Wiggins, Antique Publications, OH, 1993.
Nearly 800 examples of this glass are pictured in color with identifying captions. William Heacock had intended this volume to be the twelfth and last in the encyclopedic series on Victorian and pattern glass. He passed away before completing the project, which two authors completed with extensive research and a profusion of photographic plates. Illustrated with selected pages from turn of the century catalogs and with beautiful color plates, this volume presents all manner of table ware—toothpick holders, bowls, plates, pitchers and tumblers, breakfast sets, vases, whimsies, and much more. Photos from factory archives enliven the story of the makers of this much-prized and highly decorative glass. For anyone who values the Heacock series on glass, beginner or novice collectors, admirers of old catalogs and dealers and curators, too, here is a great addition to the reference library.
8.5” x 11” softback in very good condition. 205 pages.
